WEBFISHING - How to Easily Access the 'Void' Location
The guide is primarily designed for beginners or those who play solo.
Why did I even take this on?
The game is quite new and unexplored. Among the Steam guides, I found only one decent one, but it was in American English, which not everyone understands. And yes, as stated in the description, this guide is primarily designed for beginners or those who play solo. There may be some flaws in it.
Boring Theory (What and Why)
"The Void" is a location that can be accessed in two main ways: Find a black hole in the area (it spawns randomly at random locations on the map) or glitch through the walls in a room.
The first method is quite unusual, but black holes appear rarely, and it's easy to miss them (in about 40 hours of gameplay, I encountered 2 black holes). This is why this guide primarily focuses on the second method.
But why do we even need the Void? It's where you can catch the exclusive Creature fish, and if you're planning to prove to everyone that you have too much free time (by getting all the achievements), you'll need to catch this glitch of nature.
Breaking the Boundaries
The main trick here is passing through the walls, but it's not as difficult as it might sound. And once again, your options split into two paths: one solo, the other requiring a friend's help (or a kind passerby).
I'll briefly explain the second method: you'll need a second person who has the boxing super gloves. Stand in the corner like a mischievous child and get ready to take some hits to the face. A few punches with the gloves should knock you out of the room and into the pre-void area (more on the solo method later).
The solo method is a bit less demanding. For this, you only need a pass to your personal island (which you get by upgrading your camp). Stand in the corner, but not too close—leave a small gap. Carefully take one step toward the corner at a time and try to place the prop after each step. The idea is to place the prop behind the wall so you can step onto it through the wall. It might not work on the first try, but sooner or later, you'll manage to place it correctly. Once that's done, wedge yourself into the corner and step onto the island.
Now we exit it and enter the pre-void.
You might think you've reached your final destination, but this deceptive background is just pretending to be the Void. To reach the real Void, all you need to do is take a hundred mischievous steps towards the horizon in any direction and fall down.
After that, a special message will appear in the chat, and you'll find yourself at your destination. Cast your fishing rod and hope to catch a handful of broken pixels.
When you get tired of looking at the black-and-gray gradient, just walk in any direction, just like in the pre-void, and you'll return to the familiar fishing world.
Why You Don't Need Friends
The solo method has a few advantages that the glove method doesn't offer. Once you place the prop behind the wall, you'll have unlimited access to the Void (as long as you don't remove the prop or leave the server). This means you won't have to spend resources on calling the bait shop via the radio or bother a friend every time you want to fly around.
In reality, the author just doesn't have any friends.
For fishing, I’ll punch in the breath (epilogue).
I hope this guide makes life easier for someone and helps with filling out the fisherman's journal.
Since this is my first guide ever, I’d like to ask those who write guides regularly: how do you create masterpieces in this miserable Steam text editor?
In any case, thanks for reading this piece of text about a little indie fishing game dev!
